17-year-old gives online kaba bagpipe lessons – 2024-03-06 16:32:16

world today news/ A 17-year-old student from Madan gives online lessons on the kaba bagpipe. Eleventh-grader Kostadin Terziev recruits jobs through Internet ads.

“The idea is to be a teacher of people who want to play this unique instrument and it is cheap for them, as there is no one outside the Rhodopes to teach them,” said the young man.
His first student is a 60-year-old man from Stara Zagora, he teaches him via Skype. Kostadin began his training with the device of the bagpipe, with a diagram of the 8 holes of the bagpipe and their numbers. Then he told him for each tune a combination of fingers by the number of the holes and the duration of the stroke – half and full. The teenager first plays the melody to the student, then sends him a diagram, listens to it and points out any mistakes.

Kostadin has been a piper since the age of 10. Together with his older brother Alexander, they play in the Madan community center. The boys won first place as a duet in the Gela Whistling Competition, and they also had individual awards. Kostadin has also played in the European Parliament.
Their parents are teachers and have a guest house in the village of Yagodina. During the holidays they play for tourists.

The young man wants BGN 8 per hour for the lessons, but he is also inclined to discounts. He says that if the business with the online lessons grows, he will include his brother as a teacher, and with the earnings he wants to help himself study alternative medicine in England.
