Bandung – A total of 151 residents of Garut Regency have been infected with dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) since early 2022 to mid-March. Three of them died.
“There are 151 residents affected by dengue. Three of them died,” said Secretary of the Garut Health Service, Leli Yuliani, Friday (18/3/2022).
Leli said the 151 cases of dengue fever that were found were divided into 59 cases in January, 59 cases in February, and 23 cases in March.
“January zero deaths, February 1 mortality and March 2 deaths,” he explained.
The cases found are scattered in almost all areas of Garut. Most of them are in North Garut and urban areas.
Leli explained, various efforts were taken by the Health Office to reduce the risk of residents contracting dengue. In addition to conducting 3M counseling (Closing, Burying, Draining), his party also asked residents to use abate powder to kill mosquito larvae.
Fogging attempts were also made. In fact, lately, the implementation of fogging to kill adult mosquitoes can be carried out by the Health Office several times a week.
“What you have to watch out for is the larva. It can be anticipated with abate powder and 3M,” concluded Leli.
