1400 horsepower, 7 motors, this electric car is a monster of power

Ford has unveiled a prototype of its Mustang Mach-E intended for racing. This GT variation of the brand’s future vehicle seeks to prove that it is possible to achieve performance worthy of thermal engine racing cars. To achieve this, Ford equipped it with 7 electric motors for a total of 1400 horsepower.

To infinity and beyond ! Ford intends to show that electric vehicles have nothing to envy thermal cars in terms of power with the Mustang Mach-E. This is a racing prototype of the mainstream car unveiled a few months ago. But unlike the Mach-E that we will find on our roads, this version is a real monster of power.

Ford engineers took over the production vehicle by drastically modifying it at the cost of 10,000 hours of work. Thus, this model has seven electric motors, against two for the production model. In total, it delivers a 1,400 horsepower, just that.

Less autonomy, but more power

It will be possible, according to Ford, to place all the power of the engines in all four wheels, or only in the rear wheels for the most possible power. note that the engine battery is 58.8 kWh, much less than the production model, which offers a battery of 75.7 or 98.8 kWh. This “downgrade” is logical, since Ford has chosen to lose total autonomy to gain weight.

Of course, the vehicle has been modified accordingly, with internal roll bars and adapted steering wheel. The 15-inch tablet from the production model is still present on the dashboard. On the outside, the vehicle has also been modified with air intake on the fenders, but also a spoiler at the rear, in order to guarantee a ton of downforce which seals the car on the road when it rolls at 257 kilometers. time.
