14 Artists Registered as Legislators for 2024 Elections with PDIP Party

The 2024 general election (Pemilu) will be a competition event that will once again enliven the world of Indonesian politics.

There are lots of political candidates who are starting to emerge with their respective party vehicles.

One of the parties that has become the vehicle for a number of Indonesian artists to enter politics is the PDI Perjuangan (PDIP).

PDI Perjuangan recently registered 580 prospective legislative candidates (bacaleg) for 2024 with the KPU (General Election Commission).

Of the 580 legislative candidates, there are at least 14 public figures who are included in the list of PDIP election candidates.

“There are about 14 cultural figures, artists and artists who have proven to have very strong competence,” said PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto as quoted by Detikcom on Thursday (11/5).

The fourteen legislative candidates from artistic backgrounds were not enlisted haphazardly just because of their popularity.

A number of these artists have gone through the regeneration and training program from PDIP.

PDIP then hopes that the 14 election candidates can boost vote acquisition in the 2024 election.

“Those who are nominated have attended political education, as well as leadership regeneration and the necessary debriefing, bearing in mind that the duties of legislators must be in line with the duties of national leaders in bringing forward the Greater Indonesia,” he concluded.
