The Norwegian Public Road Administration has granted the dispensation for a weight of between 80 and 100 tonnes on the Tretten bridge on several occasions. It could take a full year before the response to the collapse is obtained.
Thirteen bridges that collapsed in August are located on provincial road 254. For normal transport, the road is designed for a maximum of 50 tons. The maximum length of the vehicles is 19.5 meters.
In 2014 the road ended up on the list of approved roads for timber trucks up to 24 meters and 60 tons.
