12-Year-Old Mahmoud Gaballa: The Rising Star of Football Juggling Turning Heads of Spanish Clubs

At 12 years old, Mahmoud Gaballa is already an artist. King of juggling, star of football, the young Limougeaud is already turning the heads of certain Spanish clubs. Ebrahim, the dad, the unwavering support and help to realize his dreams.

” Top. Blue, yellow, blue! Go get it, go get it! Come on, alternate, left foot, right foot. Yes, that’s perfect! » Under the eyes of a few teenagers taking a break on the barrier of the synthetic stadium at the Beaublanc sports park in Limoges, Mahmoud Gaballa, 12, continues. Both feet, speed, everything clean. Square.

That Wednesday, Mahmoud, dismissed from JA Isle after having enjoyed success at Lafarge, Panazol or Palais-sur-Vienne, indulged in one of his personalized weekly sessions with his former educator at JA Isle, Yassir Ahajri, always by his side. A session under the eyes of Ebrahim, the father who is passionate about football and never far from his offspring. “Since he gave me a little bridge one day, he no longer listens to me,” explains the father, hilarious. But to work on our weak points, we wanted to hire a personal coach”

Mahmoud, “a calm, serious, silent child and a very good student,” according to those close to him, seems transcended on the field. “I like the atmosphere, the adrenaline of football, I watch it all the time,” explains the person concerned.

The buzz on the networks while juggling

By being glued to videos of Real Madrid, Liverpool or Manchester City – “my favorite clubs” – Mahmoud wanted to pierce the screen too. Specialty: juggling. At 9 years old, he performed 2,226 juggles in 20 minutes. He posts his video on Youtube and creates a buzz.

A few months later, again: he posted on his YouTube channel “GABALLA” the video of his world record: 5,374 juggles in less than 40 minutes. “It’s natural,” simply reacts someone who is a fan of Cristiano Ronaldo or even Mohamed Salah and who aspires to become a professional footballer like his uncle (he played in the Egyptian D1). These juggles allow me to control the ball better. » Followed by more than 16,400 people on Instagram, the French record holder for juggles (7,256), completed in 54 minutes, is hungry: “The world record today is 8,100 juggles. Me, I want to exceed the 10,000 mark and we don’t talk about it anymore.”

He made the juggling world record a personal goal. But will he be able to realize all his footballing dreams? In any case, this is all the work carried out by Ebrahim, his father, who strives and bends over backwards to give his son the maximum chance. Last spring, he took his kid to Spain to undergo tests at different clubs.

“Not 40,000 like him”

“I promised him that we would go to Spain because it is his favorite championship, it is there that he dreams of playing,” recalls his father, manager of a construction company in Limoges. Getafe and Rayo Vallecano supervised him in a football academy. Some clubs have offered us a contract but we have to be patient, our family cannot move to Spain straight away. I have other children and that requires organization, but we are always behind him.”

If it is still a little early to see the bird leave its nest, for Yassir Ahajri, the Island educator, it is only a question of time: “It has a little something extra compared to the others. He’s not just there to juggle or do technical gestures, he feels football, he understands very quickly” Before adding: “We want him to go away. There aren’t 40,000 like him, but football is all about tax, talent, work and luck. It’s up to him to continue like this.”

For the moment, “Little Messi”, as he is nicknamed, continues to delight his friends at JA Isle, where he is upgraded in every training session, and in the playground of Renoir College in Limoges.

A precocity phenomenon which should pass the tests to enter the Châteauroux hope center this year. Want to join the rising stars of football?
