12 new locally transmitted cases reported on the mainland – Xinhua English.news.cn

BEIJING, Dec.27 (Xinhua) – China’s National Health Commission said on Sunday it received reports of 22 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the mainland on Saturday, including ten imported cases and twelve locally transmitted cases. .

Seven new locally transmitted cases were reported in northeast China’s Liaoning Province and the other five were reported in Beijing, the commission said in its daily report.

No new suspected cases or deaths linked to COVID-19 were recorded on Saturday.

Sixteen COVID-19 patients were released from hospital on Saturday on the mainland.

According to the report established on Saturday at the end of the day, a total of 4,203 imported cases had been recorded on the mainland. Of these, 3,933 left the hospital after their recovery, and 270 remain hospitalized. No deaths were reported among the imported cases.

By the same day, the total number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 on the mainland had reached 86,955. Among them, 334 were still hospitalized.

A total of 81,987 patients had left the hospital after their recovery, and 4,634 had died of the disease on the mainland, the commission said.

As of Saturday, no suspected cases of COVID-19 were reported on the mainland, and 11,954 close contacts were still under medical observation.

On the same day, fifteen new asymptomatic cases were reported, eleven of which were imported. One asymptomatic case was reclassified as a confirmed case.

A total of 251 asymptomatic cases were under medical observation, 206 of which came from outside the mainland.

As of late Saturday, 8,540 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 136 deaths, were reported in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), 46 cases in Macao SAR and 783 cases, including seven deaths, in Taiwan .

A total of 7,394 COVID-19 patients in Hong Kong, 46 in Macau and 647 in Taiwan were discharged from hospital after their recovery.
