10 varied events for a musical and artistic summer in Menorca

During July, August and September, the Balearic island combines its mandate as a European Region of Gastronomy with the most varied musical events

1–Pedra Viva Performing Arts Festival (from July 8 to September 16)

Eleven shows, in different spaces: Arcano vs glossard (July 8, Poici, Ciutadella), Carolina Eyck (July 15, Pedrera de Robadones, Es Castell), Toloache flower (July 23, Sa Vinyeta, Ciutadella), Marcel Fabregat ‘Opia’ (July 29, in El Toro), Love, Love, Love (August 7, Sa Vinyeta), Sweet Pontes (12 August, Torre Saura), Iron Skull Co (August 19, Sa Vinyeta), Live Stone (from August 27 to 29, in Lithica, near Citadel), Abraham Cupeiro (September 2, Ram Tower, Ciutadella), ‘Dragon, rest on the seabed’ (September 9, Hauser & Wirth, Maó) and ‘No two- Miss Beige y Chevi Muraday’ (Sept. 16, Hauser & Wirtt, Mao). 2 – Maó Music Festival (July 8 to August 10)

The Cloister of the Museum of Menorca will host the 49th edition of this musical event, with these concerts: Nexus Piano Duo (13 julio), Azahar Ensemble (20 julio), Carlos Casanova & Soloists of the Balearics (27 julio), Claudi Arimany (August 3) and Jordi Sans and Joni Witzi Trio (August 10). 3– Martyrdom Concert (16 julio)

Within the summer program of the Teatre des Born, in Ciutadella, the singular Huelva-born singer will offer a concert accompanied on guitar by Raúl Rodríguez, in which they will go through the songs that have formed part of her artistic life, both her own and versions of great classics. 4–Lithic dimmers (July 20 to September 3)

Eight music and performing arts shows at the Pedreras de s’Hostal, ‘Líthica’ (Ciutadella). 5 – Lazaretto Music & Gastro Festival (July 28 to August 6)

Ten concerts on this island in the port of Maó, paired with the gastronomy of two exclusive restaurants with Paco Roncero and Diego Guerrero (two chefs with Michelin stars who will offer their best versions of Menorcan stars) and a gastro area, free admission, with more than 20 food stalls for all tastes. 6 – Jazzbah (July 21 to September 24)

7 – Minorca Music Festival (August 5 to 13)

The Recinto Ferial des Mercadal, in the heart of Menorca, will host 6 open-air concerts accompanied by food trucks and a craft market. In this year’s edition they will perform: Manel (August 5), Miki Nunez (August 6), Joan Dausà (August 7), Rosario (August 9), Nil Miller (August 10) and La La Love You, Ramón Mirabet and Oques Grasses (sharing closing evening, August 13). https://menorcamusicfestival.com/es/

8 – Joan Manuel Serrat (August 17)

The legendary singer-songwriter from Barcelona will also make a stopover in Menorca as part of his ‘The Vice of Singing 1965-2022’ tour with which he bids farewell to the stage after almost six decades of a brilliant musical career. The concert will take place at 9:00 p.m. at the Unión Deportiva Mahón football pitch, and is part of the Splendid Festival organized by the Teatre Principal de Maó.

9 – Crab Island of Menorca Festival (22-24 September)

This year’s edition will feature two previews: Holly Miranda (September 1, in Es Claustre, Maó) and Cristina Rosenvinge (September 3, Teatre Principal de Maó). And already in the days of the Cranc Festival, those of artists and groups like Temples, Kevin Kaarl, La Bien Querida, El Columpio Asesino, Belako, The Blenders, The Last Neighbor, The Parrots, Rocío Saiz, Juani Mustard, Anna Ferrer or Alanaire. 10– It’s Cloister (July August September)

The old cloister of the church and convent of Carmen, in Maó, converted into a cultural space 14 years ago, will host a variety of activities throughout the summer.
