March 05, 2023 | Category: FCH News, Fan News

On March 29th and 30th, 2023, 1. FC Heidenheim 1846, together with DRK Heidenheim and the blood donation service of Baden-Württemberg-Hessen, will organize another one big blood drive in the Sparkasse BusinessClub in the Voith Arena.

Every day, 15,000 blood donations are needed in Germany to treat patients in German clinics – also in Heidenheim and our region. The high demand for blood is primarily a consequence of medical progress. Many operations, transplantations and the treatment of patients with malignant tumors have only become possible thanks to modern transfusion medicine. Statistically, most of the blood is needed to treat cancer patients. The DRK is dependent on blood donations so that patients can continue to be treated safely with blood preparations in therapy and emergency care.

Blood donation campaign in the Voith Arena

1. FC Heidenheim 1846 knows what it means to work together with employees, fans and spectators for a common goal and to show solidarity. Together we would now like to make a difference again away from the lawn as a community. For this reason, 1. FC Heidenheim 1846, together with DRK Heidenheim and the Baden-Württemberg-Hessen blood donation service, are organizing a major blood donation campaign on March 29th and 30th, 2023 in the Sparkassen BusinessClub 2 in the Voith Arena. Between 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. you have the opportunity to donate blood and save lives on these two days.

How does the blood donation work?

The blood donation itself only takes a few minutes. With the recording of the donor data, your registration, the medical examination and the recovery phase after the donation, a total of about one hour must be expected. Registration in advance is mandatory. You can find more information and the link to register HERE.

After collection, your blood will be examined in the laboratories of the German Red Cross (DRK). If there are any conspicuous findings, donors will be informed immediately by the DRK. After about three weeks, donors receive an accident aid and blood donor pass.

The prerequisite for donating blood is that you feel healthy. For the first time you can donate blood between your 18th and your 65th birthday. If all of this applies to you, don’t hesitate any longer – every donation counts! Every day, the FCH raffles a signed jersey from our FCH professional team among all donors.
