First of all, we sincerely thank the residents for actively cooperating with the measures to strengthen social distancing and special quarantine measures for the Lunar New Year holidays.
With the cooperation and participation of the citizens of the city, it became a safe and generous Lunar New Year holiday, which eased social distancing last Sunday.
However, at the end of the holiday season, there is growing regret and concern due to the case of group infection in our region.
I think the citizens of the city who heard the news through the media were also worried and worried.
As a provincial governor, I am very sorry to say that we, Chungcheongnam-do, will respond to this case of group infection with more extraordinary resolution, and that we will make every effort to take quarantine measures to prevent further spread.
First of all, I will explain the status of the Asan group outbreak.
On February 13th, one worker was first confirmed at the Asan factory of the Kikturami boiler in Tangjeong-myeon, Asan-si.
After that, after examining 8 close contact persons, 2 additional confirmed cases occurred. Accordingly, as a result of a total investigation of 632 all workers excluding the previous inspector, a total of 54 additional confirmed cases occurred.
As a result, a total of 67 confirmed cases occurred here until yesterday.
It has 57 employees and 10 families.
Of the 67 confirmed cases, 4 were confirmed by prosecutors in other regions during the holiday season, and a total of 63 confirmed cases were counted by only prosecutors in Chungnam Province.
As the results of the full investigation have not yet been released, additional confirmed cases are expected to occur.
First of all, the provincial quarantine countermeasures headquarters immediately formed an epidemiological investigation team and dispatched them, and then installed a temporary screening clinic at the site.
Immediately, all of the plant’s quarantine and disinfection measures were taken, the plant was shut down, and all employees were self-contained.
Also, I would like to inform you that 16 environmental samples were collected from this factory and requested to the Institute for Health and Environment.
Above all, the province will focus on more thorough identification of indicator patients and sources of infection through detailed site risk assessment, in-depth epidemiological investigation, and infection route follow-up investigation.
In addition, we will jointly conduct emergency on-site inspections during this week for factories with more than 100 workers in the province, and guide business sites to comply with the quarantine guidelines.
In addition, we will strengthen overall on-site inspections for multi-use facilities.
Along with this, we will thoroughly manage self-quarantine personnel by strengthening quarantine regulations.
