[사회]Prosecutors indict former national soccer team member Seok Hyeon-joon on charges of violating military service law

Seok Hyeon-joon, a former national soccer player, was tried without detention on charges of failing to fulfill his military service obligations and failing to return home from overseas.

The Suwon District Attorney’s Office announced on the 29th that it had indicted former national football player Seok without detention on charges of violating the military service law.

Mr. Seok is accused of not returning to Korea within the Overseas Residence Permit Period by the Military Personnel Administration without good reason while staying in Europe.

However, the prosecution explained that Seok was prosecuted without detention in view of the fact that he admitted to the charges and expressed his intention to serve in the military.

Through his SNS account, Mr. Seok advanced the position: “Although it was delayed due to unavoidable circumstances, there is no change in my heart and mind to perform my military service.”
