As of 0 o’clock today, there were 1,046 new cases in total.
238 people increased from the previous day.
The quarantine authorities said, excluding the 233 confirmed cases from the eastern detention center in Seoul, there are around 800. He said that if we look more closely at the trend this week, it will be possible to determine whether the spread is maintained or expanded.
When looking at the route of infection, there were 1,030 domestic outbreaks and 16 foreign inflows.
There are still many infected people in the metropolitan area.
Seoul 520, Gyeonggi 250, and Incheon 32 with 802 new patients.
In the non-metropolitan area, patients came from all 17 provinces nationwide, including 30 in Daejeon, 29 in Daegu, and 28 in Gyeongbuk.
Of the 16 confirmed foreign inflows, 5 were confirmed during the quarantine stage.
The total number of additional deaths was 40, with the cumulative death toll of 859.
In response, the quarantine authorities explained that it was the effect of the delay in reporting deaths during the holiday season.
The number of patients with severe gastric disorders also increased by 35 to 330.
In the meantime, a total of 48,000 tests were conducted at the temporary screening test in the metropolitan area yesterday, finding 119 hidden infections.
The government has decided to extend the operation of the temporary screening audit office by another two weeks.

This is what Yoon Tae-ho, head of the quarantine officer in charge of Jung Soo-bon, said at the back briefing today.
When asked whether the number of confirmed cases is not decreasing due to the British virus, they replied that it is unlikely that the mutant virus is spreading in the community.
It is currently being tested on confirmed cases, but he emphasized that only three family members who have recently entered the country have confirmed mutations.
He explained that the quarantine management network caught the confirmed person and identified the mutant virus after quarantine, and that there was no time for a route to spread to the community.
However, he added that another family from England, who was suspected of having a mutant virus, is analyzing the full-length genome.
