Los Angeles is the city of big Hollywood events – a city where wealth and failure coexist. Three emigrant families are trying to hold onto their dreams despite the restrictions caused by Corona and are trying to pull themselves out of the dark with their own hands. They fight for a life under the LA sun. Marcel and Dominik emigrate to Los Angeles so that Marcel can finally make his breakthrough as a horror film director. But that’s not easy. The two try everything to somehow get a visa. Dominik works as a pilot and is often on the road for several weeks to finance the lives of the two of them and the required visa. And just as Dominik and Marcel are feeling safe, the corona pandemic comes and throws all plans upside down. Will the couple still manage to hold onto their dream? Five years ago, Matthias Classen and his brother Simon opened their first kebab shop in Los Angeles. Three more stores followed and the brothers seemed to have made it professionally. But after an argument, the brothers went their separate ways and Matthias was left with the business alone. A few months ago, he had to close three of his shops because of the corona pandemic. To this day, Matthias does not know whether he will be able to reopen the shops. In order to still earn money, Matthias already has a new business idea – and he now wants to implement it together with his brother, of all people. Ines Garstecki has lived in Los Angeles for 20 years. She has made a real name for herself on the wedding scene with her flower shop and usually provides flowers to weddings with hundreds of guests. But the corona pandemic suddenly brought your business to a standstill. Now Ines has to try to get an order at all. Everything that she has built up over 20 years is now on the brink. Will Ines manage to overcome the crisis? All of our emigrants dream of a life in the city of angels. But now you have to do everything you can to somehow survive the crisis in LA. Will the corona pandemic put a spanner in the works for emigrants?
