The United States has agreed to provide timely support for air defense weapons used in defense of the White House to help Ukraine, which was recently hit by a massive missile strike by Russia.
The White House has said it will likely deliver two Nassams, an advanced missile defense system, to Ukraine in the very near future.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was hit by a massive Russian air strike in retaliation for the Crimean bridge explosion, has repeatedly asked G7 leaders to provide air defense weapons.

In response to Ukraine’s request for an air defense system, the White House agreed to provide timely support to Nasams, an advanced surface-to-air missile defense system.
John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator of the White House National Security Council, said he will likely deliver two (2) Nasam flags to Ukraine in the near future.

With a range of over 160km, Nasams was jointly developed by defense contractor Kongsberg of Norway and Raytheon of the United States and can defend against both missiles and aircraft.
According to US media, the Nasams has been used to defend the White House and the Capitol since 2005.
Previously, the Pentagon announced last month that it would be delivering two (2) Nasams by the end of this year and delivering another six (6) long-term.
Coordinator Kirby’s remarks are interpreted as anticipating the program.
The US intends to discuss air defense weapons support at the Ukraine Support Group meeting to discuss support for Ukraine at the NATO Defense Ministers’ meeting in Brussels, Belgium on May 12 and 13.
