After a meeting of the United Nations Security Council that discussed human rights issues in North Korea, member states gathered outside the conference room to make a statement.

On World Human Rights Day, we named North Korea as the country with the worst human rights violation and blamed the horrors of political prison camps and abuses of women and children.

In particular, he condemned the atrocities of executing North Koreans and foreigners crossing the border under the pretext of quarantine after Corona 19.

North Korea’s UN Security Council human rights discussions, which used to be held as public gatherings, were not held for two years under the Trump administration, but were recently held privately against opposition from China and Russia.

This year, 31 countries released their names in a statement condemning North Korea’s human rights abuses and calling for public meetings to be held instead of shutting them down.

The US Ambassador to the United Nations briefed before the meeting to recount the human rights horrors of a North Korean defector he met two days ago.

Earlier, the US Treasury Department announced additional sanctions against organizations and individuals linked to human rights abuses in North Korea.

North Korean border guards, who have killed countless people trying to flee North Korea by burying landmines, and seven foreign companies trading with North Korean animation subcontractors have been placed on the sanctions list.

The US Senate also reapproved the extension of the North Korean Human Rights Act, which aims to protect the human rights of North Koreans, until 2027, and is working in all directions to put pressure on North Korea through issues related to human rights.
