In accordance with the July 10 real estate measures announced last year, the comprehensive real estate tax and capital gains tax for multi-homed people will increase significantly from June.

While some of the passports have argued that the transfer tax needs to be eased in order to attract the sale of multi-homed people, recently Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki clarified his intention to pursue the existing policy as planned.

YTN commissioned Real Meter to ask for public opinion on easing the real estate transfer tax.

Half of the respondents (50.1%) said yes and 40.8% said no.

There was a disagreement between men and women.

Men took the majority with 55.8% in favor and 38.7% against, but women with 44.3% in favor and 42.8% against.

Opinions differed by age group as well.

The majority of those in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s were in favor, and in particular, the percentage of those in their 30s who were active in buying houses was higher than the average.

On the other hand, many respondents who are in their 60s and over 70 are opposed to those of other age groups.

Responses were also divided according to ideological tendencies.

63.9%, who declared themselves conservative, said they were in favor of easing the transfer tax.

The pros and cons of the progressive and the moderate propensities were tight, but 44.4% of the progressive propensities drew attention, answering that they agreed.

Looking at the supportive parties, 6 out of 10 supporters of the People’s Power answered that they agreed to ease the transfer tax, while 49.7% of the Democratic Party supporters answered that they objected.

On the 15th, the survey was conducted on 500 men and women aged 18 years and over nationwide, wirelessly and wired, and the sample error is ±4.4% from the 95% confidence level.
