The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups presented a vision to reach exports of more than $680 billion next year and become the world’s 5th largest exporter and 3rd largest manufacturing company by 2026.

President Yoon Seok-yeol, who received the New Year’s work report, stressed that the government and the private sector must work together in a situation where overseas markets are locked in blockades.

The theme of the New Year’s working report chaired by President Yoon Seok-yeol is disseminating national priorities and overcoming the economic difficulties caused by the energy crisis.

The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy has set a target of reaching over US$680 billion in exports next year, attracting 100 trillion won in facility investment and US$30 billion in foreign capital investment .

Through this, it is our vision to become 5th in exports, 3rd in manufacturing and 1st in economic territory by 2026.

To strengthen exports, we decided to provide trade financing of 360 trillion won, the largest ever, and fully support plant and defense orders as well as pioneer the nuclear power plant market.

While the Ministry of Industry is preemptively and omnidirectionally responding to the US Inflation Reduction Act and the EU Carbon Border System, the US, Japan and Taiwan have agreed to strategically review semiconductor cooperation from an of national interest.

President Yoon stressed the cooperation between the government and the private sector, saying that promoting exports and successful startups are important in overcoming the economic crisis.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced a plan to create a global fund worth 8 trillion won to support startups’ overseas expansion and promote 1,000 startups with a super gap in key future industries.
