The good news is: starting from this week, every week There will be another episode of “Jiji Jin Scan” at 11:00 pm Eastern Time in Japan and the United States, which is New York time, so please tune in.

Today’s focus: Israel and Kazakhstan formally ceased fire on Friday and released the first batch of 25 hostages; the Israeli army began flooding Hamas tunnels with seawater before the ceasefire; three pairs of candidates in Taiwan’s general election formally participated in the election, Terry Gou withdrew; the coming of Plague 2.0, Beijing hospitals began to activate shelter.

The ceasefire between Israel and Kazakhstan and the release of hostages, which attracted global attention, were delayed by one day, but finally achieved a four-day ceasefire across Gaza on November 24. The latest news is that Hamas released the first batch of 25 hostages.

This is the first batch of 13 Israeli hostages to be released. You can see that all of them are elderly women and children, while the 12 Thai and Filipino hostages are all men. These people have been detained by Hamas in Gaza for 49 days. These 25 people are The first batch of 50 hostages to be released were handed over by Hamas to the Red Cross for medical examination before being handed over to Egypt. All hostages will be flown from Egypt to a medical center in the Israeli capital for 48 hours of treatment and recuperation.

At the same time, the Israel Defense Forces announced that it was ready to retrieve the hostages. A large helicopter is already in position.

This is a helicopter prepared by the Israeli military. In order to ensure that children and the elderly are not disturbed by the noise of the aircraft, each person is equipped with sound-isolating headphones, and even various toys are prepared for the children, but I want to spend the whole time in fear of these. For the hostages, the most peaceful moment is to return to their families as soon as possible. At the same time, media and Palestinians gathered outside an Israeli prison, waiting for Israel to release some Palestinian prisoners in the prison.

In addition to the 50 hostages Hamas promised to release in the agreement, Israel has stated that every time Hamas releases 10 more hostages, the Israeli army will cease the fire for one more day. When Hamas carried out a terrorist attack on Israel on October 7, it was confirmed that it had captured more than 240 hostages, including Jews, Buddhists, Muslims, Christians, the elderly, children and women, with children ranging in age from 3 years old. People aged up to 78 years old are included, covering citizens of nearly 30 countries.

Military uses sea water to flood Hamas tunnels

At the same time that the two sides ceased fire, the Israeli army released more videos, revealing the tunnel system under Shifa Hospital where Hamas once detained hostages. Its equipment is surprisingly complete.

After several days of cleanup, the Israeli army first flew drones into the Hamas tunnel system under Shifa Hospital, and then removed all possible improvised explosives. Now someone is finally able to go down and show on camera the tunnel system at Hamas’s Gaza headquarters.

We are now under the Shifa Hospital, with the hospital building above us, leading to the street outside the hospital. This section of the tunnel alone is about 300 meters long. You can go directly to the outside of the hospital. The exit may be in an apartment. Hamas sealed the exit about a month ago when it was preparing to evacuate. Let’s now look at the authentic structure. This tunnel is an unusual compound structure, which is more suitable for living. There are bathrooms here, and there are communication equipment in this house. Now all the items have been evacuated before Hamas predicted our arrival.

We just saw the tunnel system under Shifa Hospital. The Israeli army blew it up in advance before the ceasefire between the two sides.

In addition, on the day before the ceasefire day, the Israeli army followed the example of the Egyptian army and pumped seawater from the Mediterranean Sea, opened the floodgates and started filling some Hamas tunnels with water.

While filling the area with water, the Israeli army sent troops to guard possible tunnel exits nearby. It is said to be very effective, and many Hamas elements have been caught just by waiting. I estimate that in the next ceasefire agreement, Hamas will have to add the condition of “no water filling”.

On the same day as the ceasefire between Israel and Kazakhstan, the registration of candidates for the Taiwan election, which attracted global attention from Chinese people, came to an end, and the final result was very dramatic.

Taiwan election candidate Terry Gou withdraws from the race

On November 24, the last day to register candidates for Taiwan’s general election, the truth came to light, and three pairs of candidates became official running partners. They are Lai Qingde and Xiao Meiqin of the Democratic Progressive Party; Ke Wenzhe and Wu Xinying of the People’s Party; and Hou Youyi and Zhao Shaokang of the Kuomintang. Except for Lai Qingde and Xiao Meiqin, who had officially registered before, the latter two were still trying to promote a collaboration the day before registration.

This directly caused Hou Youyi and Ke Wenzhe to hastily select their respective partners to register. How hasty was it? Hou Youyi still called Ke Wenzhe before registering, hoping to turn things around.

Hou Youyi’s partner is Zhao Shaokang. The chairman of China Broadcasting Corporation and a famous speaker is an old acquaintance to Taiwanese people. Some people are looking forward to it. With Zhao Shaokang’s control over the media and his fighting ability as a famous speaker, he will be among the candidates in the subsequent general election. I saw some scuffles in the room. However, precisely because Zhao Shaokang owns China Radio and Television and hosts political commentary programs, his candidacy violates the Radio and Television Law – the principle of media neutrality during elections.

However, what is interesting is that even though Hou Youyi has an official partner and still expresses his “love for Ke Wenzhe”, Ke Wenzhe regards the negotiation with the other party as a “farce”.

Let’s take a look at Ke Wenzhe’s official partner: Wu Xinying. People may first know her as “Princess Shin Kong”, that is, the third generation daughter of Taiwan’s largest conglomerate, Shin Kong Group. Some people pointed out that in 2015, Ke Wenzhe was still emphasizing: The greatest sorrow of this country is that the consortium is too arrogant, and the government cannot be controlled by the consortium. Why is it that in 2023, the government is suddenly no longer afraid of being influenced by financial groups?

Have you noticed that each of them has officially registered and is still struggling with the meeting the day before, that is, the three-party meeting on November 23. To put it simply, Ke Wenzhe invited Hou Youyi and Terry Gou to the Grand Hyatt Hotel where Gou paid for the three-party meeting. Emergency integration. Unexpectedly, former President Ma Ying-jeou and KMT Chairman Zhu Lilun came uninvited, and the three-person meeting turned into a five-person tripartite meeting.

Some people want to talk privately, and some want to talk openly. So, some people say nothing, while some people read other people’s private messages in public. As a result, some people can’t help but talk about it, and some people are so angry that they announce that they have to go to the toilet. Another person suddenly and inappropriately brushed off the matter of the poll, causing some people to suddenly leave the venue angrily. Others found that this was a good opportunity to withdraw and left the venue. As a result, when they came back from the toilet, they found that everything had changed. Three-way talks between people have become two people who just like to talk.

That’s wonderful. No matter how I describe it here, it’s better than watching the live video yourself. The whole meeting is actually to illustrate a truth: don’t go to the toilet casually during important meetings.

On Friday, the most lonely person was Terry Gou who went to the toilet midway. There were originally four people running for election, but he was the only one who lost out.

On Thursday, Hou Youyi released to the media a private message sent to him by Ko Wenzhe: “He (Terry Gou) needs to find a reason to withdraw from the election, and it is also good to give him face.” He hit the nail on the head. Suddenly, Terry Gou officially resigned. elected. The sincere words written when withdrawing from the election express: For the future of the Republic of China, the choice will be fulfilled; if a person quits, he will not retreat.

In this regard, Lai Qingde pointedly pointed out the real reason why Terry Gou withdrew from the election: We clearly know that it is suppressed by the Chinese Communist Party, and we should support Terry Gou.

In fact, Taiwanese media have long pointed out that the CCP’s high-profile “tax inspection” of China’s Foxconn is to force Terry Gou to withdraw from the election. The Beijing authorities had just announced that they would only impose a light fine of 20,000 yuan on Foxconn, and then Terry Gou announced his resignation as president of the Republic of China.

The epidemic is back, mainly affecting children

No matter how exciting the recent presidential election in Taiwan is, it is estimated that many Chinese people have no intention to pay attention to it, because big things are happening in China now!

Although the three-year epidemic has tormented all Chinese people, people have begun to forget about it after the lockdown was lifted. Now, a new epidemic has come back, not only with a fierce force, but this time it mainly affects children.

On November 24, the screen in the emergency call hall of Tianjin Children’s Hospital in a municipality directly under the Central Government of China showed that the number of children seeking treatment was terrifyingly over a thousand. This is the number of people queuing up for treatment at a hospital in Beijing on the 20th: more than 700 children were lined up. What’s even more frightening is that the terrible scene from a year ago has reappeared: the hospital’s departments have basically collapsed, just like when the epidemic was first released. There are 12 people in one department, and 9 of them have fever; the pediatric department is full, and there are no beds for inpatients. Colleagues My nephew is in his senior year of high school. CT scan showed white lungs. He was so anxious that he cried and still wanted to go to school. The doctor said, “I want my life or my grades. I was hospitalized for more than 20 days, but I still haven’t recovered.”

Let’s take a look at the “sea of people” in a children’s hospital in Tianjin.

Let’s take a look at the scene in the outpatient hall of Beijing Children’s Hospital:

The Laboratory Department of the Second Hospital of Jilin University in Changchun City, Jilin Province, Northeastern China, has been overcrowded with children and parents and is completely paralyzed.

How big is the impact of this wave of epidemic? Even Hu Xijin, the former editor-in-chief of the Global Times who never caused trouble to the government, also posted on Weibo saying that his granddaughter’s fever reached 40.6 degrees Celsius, and she had never had such a high fever in the past.

In addition to mentioning that his granddaughter had a high fever, Hu Xijin also revealed, “The pediatric departments of major hospitals are all overcrowded. Most of the queues for examinations in Beijing’s top tertiary hospitals take about 5 hours, and the queues for infusions are even longer. I take my child to the hospital to register at night and only wait until early in the morning. When you get sick, you only know how uncomfortable it is after you have experienced it.” Some netizens sarcastically said: “That’s not what they said last year;” “Editor Hu can pick out any disk that comes flying in his mouth, and it’s extremely stable! But he never says what’s the problem?”

Even if you wait for several hours to see a doctor, it does not mean that you can afford to see a doctor.

This is the cost that a Beijing parent paid for 12 days of treatment for mycoplasma pneumonia in a Beijing hospital after treating their child: the total cost is more than 30,000.

In fact, the most pitiable ones are the children who are infected. While feeling uncomfortable, they have to force themselves to cope with the pressure of going to school. This is the scene in a hospital in Heilongjiang Province. The children have a fever, cough and drips while in the hospital. Review to cope with exams that come more frequently than viruses. No wonder netizens said: Chinese children are so miserable. Personally, I suggest that parents call a psychiatric doctor upstairs. You have to cry when Satan comes, this is hell.

On November 22, the World Health Organization officially requested China to provide more information about the increase in respiratory diseases, especially cluster pneumonia in children. Some hospitals in Beijing, such as Peking University Women’s and Children’s Hospital, have activated the “square cabins” built during the last epidemic lockdown as temporary infusion rooms.

What’s even more frightening is that medical experts in Beijing said: This epidemic is spread through droplets and close contact or through contaminated hands and surfaces, and both children and adults are likely to be infected. As for treatment: there is no particularly effective drug.

Is it possible that the epidemic we were still experiencing a year ago will be repackaged in 2.0? In times of crisis, most people think about how to prevent, how to avoid pathogens and how to treat them. But few people are willing to think deeply: Why did the previous great plague that the world had not seen in a century break out from China, but this new epidemic is the first to be attacked by the Chinese?

During the epidemic, there was this saying: The plague has eyes, stay away from the CCP, withdraw from the CCP, and stay safe! Who dares to say that this is not a warning to others?
