The Etablissement Français du Sang is the only civil transfusion operator in France. Blood transfusion, which the EFS has had a monopoly on since 2000, includes blood donation, plasma donation and platelet donation. The French Blood Establishment guarantees the safety of the transfusion chain, from donor to recipient. It contributes to treating more than 1 million patients each year. The Etablissement Français du Sang is present throughout France (including overseas departments) with its 153 collection sites and 40,000 mobile collections.
Being a sampler at the EFS means taking part in a major public health mission in the service of patients. Within a multidisciplinary team, you take whole blood samples and participate in the smooth running of the mobile collection. You combine technical skills and interpersonal skills to help build donor loyalty.
As part of his missions, the Collector M/F:
– Participates, as a team, in the installation and uninstallation of the collection.
– Welcoming, informing donors and contributing to their loyalty, in a context of strong growth in blood requirements.
– Performs whole blood samples in accordance with instructions and procedures.
– Performs pre-donation hemoglobin.
– Monitors the donor and the procedure, identifies the first signs of intolerance and takes the necessary measures.
– Prepares the packaging and transport of bags and examination tubes.
– Manages the documents relating to the collection.
– Informs the collection supervisor of any undesirable donor event and any event that may have an impact on the smooth running of the collection or on the quality of the products collected.
– Participates in the reception and collation of donors.

– State diploma of medical analysis laboratory technician (became state diploma of technician in biomedical analyzes and Diploma of medical laboratory technician).
– Diploma of scientific and technical university studies, specialty analyzes of biological environments issued by the University of Corte.
– Certificate of professional training of higher technician physicist chemist issued by the Ministry of Labor (became professional title of higher technician physicist chemist).
– Biochemistry-biology technician undergraduate degree from the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (became professional title of senior technician in industrial sciences and techniques – biochemistry-biology course and became senior laboratory technician in chemistry, biology, food, health, environment – course biochemistry-biology).
– Diploma of biochemistry-clinical biology laboratory technician issued by the higher school of biochemistry-biology technicians of the catholic faculty of sciences of lyon (now title of biochemistry-biology laboratory assistant).
