WATCH ⟩ “Maybe something happened to your head?” The man is shocked by the parking attendant’s punishment and attitude

Ervin often drives on the Gustava Zemgala gatve overpass in Riga. When driving in the direction of the VEF neighborhood, when there are traffic jams, after leaving the overpass, he often cuts the road to Brīvības iela, driving through the parking lot at the “Elkor Plaza” supermarket, which is allowed.

At the beginning of this year, to his surprise, Ervins received a notification of a violation and a 30-euro fine from the manager of the specific parking lot. The notice includes photos that allegedly show that Ervin’s car was parked in the parking lot for 25 minutes one day in November.

Ervins informs the program that he drove smoothly through the territory, as required by the rules of use of the field – up to five minutes.

Ervins contacted “Park Expert” by phone, but the company’s representatives have not been responsive. Communication was rough.

“I drive there every day, there have never been any penalties. I said that maybe something happened in the system itself, I was answered – maybe something happened in my head. They called me a scumbag! I have also written three times by e-mail, not to anyone they haven’t answered. I asked for the camera recordings, because there are cameras on every corner. I think there is no problem to take a look,” says Ervins.

Ervins did not pay the fine, but soon he was approached by a debt collector who demanded a fine of 37 euros. He paid for it.

The Consumer Rights Protection Center (PTAC) states that “Park Expert” has previously come to the attention of the institution for unsatisfactory communication, which PTAC has requested to improve.

“Park Expert” has not yet answered the “No Taboo” questions.
