VIDEO ⟩ Chess robot breaks boy’s finger during game – Other sports

The president of the Moscow Chess Federation, Sergey Lazarev, revealed that the incident happened at the Moscow Open Chess Championship on Tuesday, after the boy rushed the robot.

“The robot broke the child’s finger, which, of course, is bad,” said Lazarev.

The robot grabbed the boy’s finger and it was broken. The boy was put in a plaster cast, and he was able to squat for his participation in the tournament.

“The boy made a move, and then the robot had to give time, but the boy rushed, and the robot grabbed his finger,” said Lazarev. “Robot operators will have to think about protection so that situations like this don’t happen again.”

“Moscow Chess Open” took place in the Russian capital from July 13 to 21.
