The Hubble Telescope takes pictures of the merging of two galaxies

NASA recently shared on social media an image of two galaxies taken by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, and they appear to be entangled with each other.

In the shot, two star-studded galaxies can be seen performing a “minute” dance. Named separately, the lower galaxies are called NGC 5953 by NASA, and they clearly attract the galaxy in the upper right called NGC 5954, which appears to extend one spiral arm downward. According to NASA, this subtle dance occurred more than 100 million light years from Earth.

The two interacting galaxies are named Arp 91.

NASA also reports that NGC 5953 is clearly pulling NGC 5954, which appears to extend one spiral arm downward. The immense gravitational pull of two galaxies causes them to interact, such gravitational interactions are common and an important part of galaxy evolution.

NASA’s Instagram post of the two spiral galaxies said: “NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope captures the subtle dance between two interacting galaxies. Placing a view more than 100 million light-years from Earth, the lower galaxy is clearly interesting at the top right, which appears to stretch out its arms in a downward spiral.

He added: “Both galaxies are classified as spiral galaxies, but their shape looks different due to their orientation to Earth. Astronomers believe that collisions between spiral galaxies like this could lead to the formation of another type of galaxy, known as spiral galaxies. elliptical galaxy. Big and very lively, it’s not a fast movement. Collisions like that happen frequently over hundreds of millions of years, so we shouldn’t expect this pair of dancers to look any different for the rest of our lives.”
