The Swedish automaker has revealed when it will officially unveil its new flagship electric car. Volvo CEO Jim Rowan has confirmed that the XC90’s successor will be called the EX90. The new battery-powered SUV will be publicly shown on November 9 this year.
So far, the 2024 Volvo EX90 is known to receive a fully electric transmission, advanced sensors for autonomous driving (including cameras, radar and lidar) and sophisticated software as standard. All this will make the novelty the safest among current Volvo models.
Without waiting for the official debut of the new Swedish electric car, CarScoops freelance artist Josh Burns revealed the first renders of the next eco-friendly SUV. It can be considered quite accurate because when creating this rendering, the designer relied on images from the car’s official patent.
The image shows that the new SUV has a narrow front grille with a vertical slat pattern and the brand logo in the center, original optics with a T-shaped light signature, a massive front bumper and pronounced wheel arches.
More details on Volvo’s new electric flagship will be revealed during its official debut. It is already known that an electric car will be able to monitor driver fatigue. The system will warn of a problem with a special beep and, if the driver does not react, will safely stop the car itself.
