He tells about the beginnings of this idea: “Summer 2019. I was traveling around Bulgaria with a small backpack. I have been thinking about something big for a long time, something that will change my life.

I vividly remember the day when I woke up in the morning, my legs were shaking and I thought: “I know what I’m going to do! I’m going to go around the world!”

On May 8, 2021, he began his great adventure to cross all continents on foot.

“It’s a unique experience. You have to deal with your emotions and you want to share your stories, but not all people understand what I’m going through,” he says.

He faced several incidents in Europe. He was fined in Bulgaria for driving on the left side of the road. The next day, when he walked on the right side of the road, the same policeman fined him again.

In Croatia, on the other hand, he was imprisoned because the authorities did not believe that he had not traveled by car or bicycle.

“One day I’m sleeping in a limousine in a driveway, and the next day I’m sleeping among goats in Jordan,” Boerman says of the experience so far.

Remembering the beginnings, he says that it rained 41 days out of the first 53 days of his adventure. He then experienced the sandstorms of the Jordanian desert, followed by a hurricane in America. A violent thunderstorm raged through the night while he slept in a tent by the river south of Chicago.

The latest published information shows that he has been traveling for over 600 days and is currently in New Zealand.
