Artcurial will be looking for a new owner of a former Mongolian state-made car made in Russia at an auction in Paris on March 19. The ZIL 114 was a representative sedan for the Soviet Union and its allies.

The Artcurial auction, which will take place at the Rétromobile classic car show, was once used by the President of Mongolia. This is also indicated by the original national number plate YB 00001.

The limousine is currently registered in France with a license plate from the Paris department. According to Artcurial,

ZIL is in its original condition and only slightly colored in some places.

However, the first signs of rust are already starting to appear on the roof supports and in the engine room. It is not possible to drive the car yet, because it broke the gearbox 15 years ago and needs repair.

Depending on the year of manufacture, the ZIL 114 has a two- or three-speed automatic transmission. The cabin, meanwhile, is in excellent condition, which means that the leather-covered front sofa, the two folding seats with a fabric trim in the middle and the fabric sofa at the back alone need to be refreshed to accommodate passengers again.

Two red flags on the wings indicate that the car has been used for representation purposes. Until the car went into private collection in 2004, it was in the National Automobile Museum. The preliminary price of the car is from 40,000 to 60,000 euros.

Between 1967 and 1977, 113 units of this model were built by hand in the plant named after Likhachov (ZIL).

The successor to the “ZIL 111” model used by Nikita Khrushchev was used in the Soviet Union and 15 Soviet republics. The model, which is now being auctioned, belongs to the first series. Initially, the ZIL 114 was only 6.31 meters long, but in 1971 the 52-centimeter shorter version, the ZIL 117, appeared.

The water-cooled 7-liter V8 engine is mounted longitudinally and is located behind the front axle.

The rear wheels are driven by the automatic transmission.

The limousine’s unladen weight is three tonnes, making the ZIL 114 one of the heaviest in the car, but 300 horsepower is enough to reach a top speed of 190 km / h. Consumption is given as 22 liters per 100 kilometers.
