Aigars Reinis, an organist at the Riga Dome Cathedral, received the award for outstanding performance throughout the year for concerts at the church. The silver statuette of the Grand Music Prize for outstanding work in the ensemble went to cellist Margarita Balana. Singer Edgars Ošleja won the title of the Young Artist of the Year.

The Grand Music Award is the highest Latvian state award in music. The award is organized by VSIA “Latvijas koncerti” in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture.
