In Turkey, Muslims will have to celebrate the end of Ramadan in complete lockdown. President Erdogan has issued a restraining order for the four-day holiday period around Sugar Day, May 23-26. This follows a series of weekend lockdowns that have been set since early April. During the week, Turks are allowed to go outside, except for those over 65 and under 20.

Earlier it was expected that the Sugar Feast might usher in the last strict lockdown before the country returns to normal.

Erdogan also announced that the domestic travel ban will remain in effect for two more weeks. The schools will no longer open this school year and will only receive children again in September. The mosques may open again on May 29.

Turkey says it has control of the coronavirus outbreak. As far as we know, 31 patients died from the effects of the virus in the past 24 hours. A total of 4,171 people in the country died of Covid-19.
