iOS 13.6 is available in final version (CarKey, audio in News …)

Apple has just released the final version of iOS 13.6 which includes several new features and other improvements.

To install this version, just go to the app Settings> General> Software update. It is also available for iPad (iPadOS 13.6).

Apple also offers the final version of iOS 12.4.8 for incompatible iOS 13 devices.

Here are all the new features in iOS 13.6:

iOS 13.6 supports vehicle digital keys and adds the Symptoms category to the Health app. This version also includes bug fixes and improvements.

Vehicle digital keys (CarKey)

  • Unlock, lock and start your vehicle compatible with your iPhone.
  • Safely delete digital keys from a lost device using iCloud.
  • Easily share your digital keys with iMessage.
  • Driver profiles allow you to configure shared keys to restrict driving.
  • The power reserve allows you to unlock and start your vehicle up to five hours after your iPhone runs out of battery.

Health

The Health app includes a new category for recording symptoms, including those recorded from Cycle Monitoring and ECG. You can now record new symptoms (e.g. fever, chills, sore throat, cough) and then share them with third-party apps.

iOS 13.6 also includes bug fixes and other improvements. This update:

  • adds a new setting that lets you choose to automatically download updates when your device is connected to a Wi ‑ Fi network;
  • fixes an issue that could cause apps to stop responding when syncing data to iCloud Drive;
  • fixes an issue that could cause the Data Abroad feature to be disabled on eSIM while it is active;
  • fixes an issue that displayed some calls from Saskatchewan as coming from the United States;
  • resolves an issue that could interrupt the audio of telephone calls that use the Wi ‑ Fi Call feature;
  • fixes an issue that prevented some iPhone 6S and iPhone SE from registering for Wi – Fi Call;
  • resolves an issue that may display the virtual keyboard unexpectedly when the device is connected to certain physical keyboards from third-party manufacturers;
  • fixes an issue that could mistakenly associate the US keyboard layout with Japanese physical keyboards;
  • resolves stability problems observed when accessing the control center when AssistiveTouch is activated;
  • provides a mechanism for administrators to allow them to exclude domains from traffic transmitted over persistent VPN connections.
