Vodafone GmbH will be the network operator for the Broadband Association Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald. The company won the bid for the most economical offer of all applicants in the course of an EU-wide tendering process. In addition to the amount of the lease payments for the leased network, the selection criteria were particularly decisive for the product and services for customers in the private and commercial sector.
For the association chairwoman Dorothea Störr-Ritter, it is important: “With Vodafone GmbH as a well-known and committed partner, the special-purpose association can hope for a reliable and future-proof supply of fast internet for the citizens of our association municipalities in the district.”
Rolf-Peter Scharfe, head of fiber optic cooperation at Vodafone GmbH, is also pleased about the contract for network operations in the special-purpose association: “We will be fully committed to improving broadband coverage in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district. Together with the special-purpose association, we will create comprehensive, gigabit broadband coverage for rural areas in the association’s territory over the next few years. The special-purpose association also benefits from the successful cooperation with Vodafone GmbH in other districts and municipalities. ”
The special purpose association is rebuilding the network infrastructure for fast Internet with fiber optics in underserved areas right into the buildings. With the completion of network areas, Vodafone GmbH then takes over the operation and markets attractive products.
Citizens and companies located in the expansion area will be contacted by the Zweckverband Broadband Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald beginning in the coming months and informed about the further procedure. Then the pre-marketing campaign period begins with concrete tariff offers and the possibility of concluding fiber optic contracts. This phase is accompanied, among other things, by personal letters and, where possible, information events for all interested parties.
