The basis of the factory modification of the current flagship of electric Mercedes are portal axles with off-road suspension. With larger wheels and tires, this increases ground clearance to 293 mm, which is 153 mm more than the standard EQC, even 53 mm more than the standard G-Class.

In order not to “look” too much out of the body wheels, the special EQC also received wider fenders. Overall, the car is 200 mm wider. The car can wade up to 40 cm, 15 cm more. The approach angles are 31.8 and 33 degrees at the rear, which means an increase of 11.2 and 13 degrees, respectively.

The powertrain has not changed. The extreme concept uses a pair of electric motors for a combined output of 300 kW, ie 408 hp. It forms all-wheel drive. Batteries with a capacity of 80 kWh are usually sufficient for standard 450 km according to the WLTP standard. However, all the mentioned adjustments certainly reduced this number significantly, the Stuttgart value does not state the exact value.

Mercedes has played with the superscript several times in the past. The 4 × 4² version in a similar spirit was given to the last generation of the G-class off-road, as well as the E-Class station wagon.
