Doctor Jean-Yves Grall is leaving his position as Director General of the ARS, which he has held since November 2016. He will be replaced, as of May 15, by Mrs. Cécile Courrèges.
It had been almost seven years since the doctor Jean-Yves Grall was at the head of the ARS. He is now leaving his post and will be replaced by Cécile Courrèges, Inspector General of Social Affairs. While waiting for her to take office on May 15, it is Muriel Vidalenc, Deputy Director General who will take over as interim.
Doctor Jean-Yves Grall, director for 7 years
Doctor Jean-Yves GRALL took over the management of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Regional Health Agency in November 2016 after being appointed by the Council of Ministers. Cardiologist, he practiced as a liberal then as a hospital practitioner at the Châteaubriant hospital center (Loire Atlantique).
At the same time, Jean-Yves Grall has held the position of President of the College of General Managers of ARS since October 2014. He is the author of several reports, including ” medicine in the hospital » (2003), « On-call medical homes » (2006), « Evaluation of the emergency plan » (2007), « Adaptation of the ambulatory care permanence system » (2007) et « Territorialization of emergency activities » (2015).
Cécile Courgès, new director of the ARS
Cécile Courgès is a graduate of the National School of Administration (ENA) and the National School of Public Health (ENSP). In 2002, she joined the General Inspectorate of Social Affairs (IGAS). In 2006, she joined the general secretariat of the ministries in charge of social affairs to lead the project team in charge of the creation of Regional Health Agencies (ARS).
In October 2014, she took the head of the ARS Pays-de-La-Loire, then in June 2017 of the general direction of the offer of care (DGOS) at the Ministry of Health and Solidarity. In August 2019, she returned to IGAS and was called to various functions during the management of the Covid-19 epidemic. In 2022, it was tasked by the Minister of Health and the Minister of Solidarity with proposing a ministerial reorganization of the preparation and management of health crises.
