Crisis in Mali: Alioune Tine excludes any idea of military intervention

Uncompromising since the putsch on Tuesday, the Economic Community of West African States is calling for the immediate recovery of the ousted president. But the former president of the African Meeting for the Defense of Human Rights (Radhho) advises against military intervention in Mali, which, according to him, is not the right option.

An example of democracy

“The concept of collective sanction does not make sense in the context of Mali. ECOWAS must rule out the idea of going to intervene militarily in Mali. This country is in such a vulnerable situation that we need the means to get out of the quagmire. Mali has always been a country with a democratic culture ”, underlined Alioune Tine, in the program“ Remue-household ”, on the Rfm.

The application of texts

He continues: “We have a crisis of universal suffrage in Africa. So, we need resources. There are no better texts than those of ECOWAS. But there is no way to enforce them. However, within the ECOWAS Court of Justice, it is the best judges who are there. But states do not apply the court decisions they make ”, he said.

Reminder

Alioune Tine is not kidding against the tampering of the Institutions. Amnesty International’s director for West Africa calls on all sections of the population of Senegal and Africa to block the road to presidents who want to run for a third term. According to him, it is also synonymous with a constitutional coup.
