Saturday’s day was marked by important victories for the Costa Rican legionnaires on the European continent, which allows them to improve the positions of their clubs in the standings.
Kenneth Vargas and Hearts in the Scottish league, for example, faced the historic Celtic, at Celtic Park, in Glasgow, one of the most important matches of the day and which in the end had a happy ending for the Tico team.
Vargas’ club only needed 30 minutes to defeat them 2-0. With the three points in his pocket, coach Steven Naismith applied changes and in one of them the Tico legionnaire had action.
Vargas came on in the 65th minute for Aidam Denholm and complied with the coaching staff’s instructions to maintain the result that allows them to remain in third position in the standings, surpassed only by Celtic and Rangers.

Gamboa celebrated
Another of the Costa Ricans who played this Saturday was Cristian Gamboa, as his team, Bochum, faced Unión Berlin, which had just lost 3-2 against Real Madrid at the end of its participation in the UEFA Champions League. a result that was not enough for them to play in the Europa League.
The Tico team took advantage of the fact that they were injured to get the points and finally achieved their goal by beating them 3-0. Gamboa started as a starter and was replaced in the 87th minute by Felix Passlack.
That victory keeps them in 13th position in the standings with 16 points, little by little approaching the middle table and seeing the relegation spots from afar.
