To deal with the pandemic, Bolsonaro said, in his online transmission, that the Government could pay three more installments of emergency aid, allocated monthly to informal workers [sem contrato de trabalho] and on their own, hit by the new coronavirus crisis.
The monthly subsidy, in the amount of 600 reais (about 99 euros) and which was announced in March, will now be gradually reduced, with installments of 500, 400 and 300 reais (83, 66 and 49 euros, respectively), according to Bolsonaro.
Subsequent to this payment, aid to informal workers should be terminated, due to the high cost of the measure for the State coffers.
The Ministry of Health also informed that, starting next Monday, it will deploy 21 health professionals, in addition to medical equipment, to strengthen care for indigenous peoples from the Yanomami and Raposa Serra do Sol lands, in Roraima.
“This is the Government’s 5th mission in indigenous lands, reinforcing the executive’s commitment to the health of all Brazilians. The Yanomami and Raposa Serra do Sol lands have a population of around 75,000 indigenous people,” said the guardianship at social network Twitter, adding that the entire medical team will check the new coronavirus before boarding, in order to protect native peoples, sensitive to respiratory diseases.
