The legislative proposal, on the verge of being voted in plenary, was endorsed by the Agricultural Affairs Commission in July 2020, with the affirmative opinion of the deputies Erwen Masís, of the Christian Social Unity Party (PUSC); Paola Valladares and Aida Montiel, from the National Liberation (PLN); Mario Castillo and Welmer Ramos, from Acción Ciudadana (PAC); Marolin Azofeifa and Carmen Chan, from New Republic, and Melvin Núñez from Restauración Nacional.
