Six months of World Health Organization (WHO) clinical trials in approximately 11,000 patients have shown that remdesivir has little or no effect on length of hospital stay and survival in patients with covid-19.
The government released 205 million crowns to buy the drug remdesivir. The Czechia should have 10,000 benefits in October |
In the previous days, the Czech government ordered ten thousand doses of the drug for more than 200 million crowns. “The information is quite surprising. The high effectiveness of the preparation has not been confirmed and it can even be said that it was relatively small, “said Health Minister Roman Prymula on Twitter on Saturday. The epidemiologist added that according to Czech information sources, remdesivir is important only in mild cases and prevents the transition to more serious ones.
The American company Gilead, a manufacturer of remdesivir, did not comment on the study in the world’s media and only stated that the results were not in line with data from previous research, which, on the contrary, confirmed the benefits of the drug.

A man from the Wuhan lab spoke. The virus does not come from us, it is simply not possible, he claims |
Prymula also commented on the myths circulating about coronavirus on his twitter account. He considers one of the most fundamental claims to be that the virus does not exist at all, or was created artificially to decimate humanity.
“There are a number of conspiracy theories, but I think the virus did occur naturally and was only worked with in the laboratory,” said the health minister, adding that SARS-CoV-2 had a high probability of escaping from the laboratory, but not because it would be modified in some way.
In a video post, Prymula also responded to the fact that a quarter of Czechs consider drapes to be unnecessary according to the survey. “It simply came to our notice then. The drape logically affects the flow of exhaled air. They make sense if we all wear them, “he emphasized, noting that the veils protect up to eighty percent. However, the Minister acknowledged that textile drapes are not effective when people are in an environment full of coronavirus. “It certainly wouldn’t protect us,” he said.
