The Mechelen company Biocartis is working on a test that detects the causative agents of lung cancer. This test would allow doctors to prescribe more targeted treatment more quickly, increasing the patients’ chances of survival. The Flemish government believes in this and provides a subsidy of 1.2 million euros.
