Polar temperature, wind, rain… The 460 athletes at the start of the duathlon organized by Vichy Triathlon braved the elements on Sunday in Gannat.
In the junior race (S format), selective for the French championship, the Montluçonnais Baptiste Massot also had to deal with strong competition. Caught on the descent of the bike between the two athletes of Valence Triathlon, Quentin Barruel and Lucas Jouin, the Bourbonnais made the difference in the second running session.
AuRA Championship Support
This duathlon was also the support of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes championship. Prophet in his country, the organizing club won the two titles awarded in the team time trial.Winner of the junior race (S format), Baptiste Massot (Montluçon Triathlon) dominated his two opponents from Valence in running.
Among the boys, the Vichy trio made up of Franck Moulin, Valentin Lacroix and Jean-François Tournu dominated Lifetri (Olivier Pacheco, Jérôme Ducher, Benoît Lafuma). Thanks to Lionel Pardon, Franck Capitani, François Goubel and Christophe Durbec, Vichy Triathlon even climbed to the third step of the podium.
Caroline Graulière, Marie-Christine Rodriguez, Ozhayat Xhaflaire and Florence Boissavy also allowed the Vichy club to win the title in the girls category.
