Missed a PlayStation 5 pre-order? Today can be your day

If you missed the first PlayStation 5 pre-order period, you could be in luck today.

Last week you could place a pre-order for the PlayStation 5 for the first time, but that was not so easy. The next-gen console from Sony was Sold out in minutes. The competing Xbox Series X did even better, partly because of Sony’s own blunders. But there is probably good news if you missed the PlayStation 5 the first round.

PlayStation 5 pre-order

If you missed the PlayStation 5 pre-order period, you could be in luck today. Sony promised to make more consoles available last week. Now several retailers are confirming that they can indeed sell more PlayStation 5 consoles. Including the American GameSpot and the UK arm of Amazon have reported that pre-ordering a PlayStation 5 will be possible again. Major Dutch outlets such as Bol.com and Amazon.nl have not yet announced anything.

Patience is a virtue

Even then, patience is of course a virtue. Even though more PlayStation 5 consoles become available for pre-order, the chance that you will get one is small. As with every change of console generation, there is an immediate run on the game consoles.

If the first batch of PlayStation 5s was sold out within 15 minutes, the second emergency supply will no doubt run out in minutes. It is not clear how many PlayStation 5s Sony has released.

In the end, I just would wait for the release on November 12 and then call around which stores have a physical copy. After all, the chance that you will receive the console on time (at least at Amazon) is small.
