PSG Director Slams FFF After Kylian Mbappe Is Positive Corona

Kylian Mbappe positive corona virus while defending French national team. It makes French Football Federation (FFF) criticized the director Paris Saint Germain.

The FFF released a statement that Mbappe was positive for the corona virus. In tests carried out on Monday (7/9), the 21-year-old striker was declared infected and was immediately isolated from the squad, ahead of facing Croatian national team of UEFA Nations League, Wednesday (9/9) in the morning WIB.

“The results of the COVID-19 test conducted by UEFA on Monday (7/9) morning turned out to be positive. He was immediately expelled from the group after receiving the results, at the end of training, before returning to his home in the evening.”

The news apparently annoyed PSG. The sporting director, Leonardo de Araujo, admitted that Les Parisiens was not directly informed by the FFF.

“I feel this is very unacceptable, because we know from the media if one of our players is positive,” Leonardo told RMC.

“They released a statement and sent the players home, but none of the Federation discussed it with us. Nobody contacted us,” continued Leonardo, who was also a former PSG player in the 1996-1997 season.

Furthermore, Leonardo admitted that the club contacted Mbappe himself to find out the truth. This is what annoys PSG because of communication problems.

“Exactly. He is at home and we know it from him. Are we looking after him? Everyone is lecturing PSG, we don’t look after the players well. But when this happens, PSG has to deal with it, even if it doesn’t know it. PSG has always been a person. the evil one in the story, “said Leonardo, who also defended Sao Paulo, Valencia, AC Milan and Kashima Antlers.

“This is a lack of respect because we never communicate with the club. We don’t talk to anyone. We only talk to Mbappe. We are the ones who have to apply pressure. This is unacceptable,” said the Brazilian.

For PSG, Mbappe’s situation makes a long list of players who have tested positive for corona. It has been there before Neymar, Angel Di Maria, Leandro Paredes, Mauro Icardi, Keylor Navas, and Marquinhos who also contracted COVID-19.
