The financial center has been waiting for this process for years: The negotiation against the former Raiffeisen boss Pierin Vincenz (64). The public prosecutor’s office has been investigating the fallen star banker for over two and a half years, and Vincenz was in custody for 106 days.
–
The public prosecutor’s office has now done its job and the investigation has been completed. Charges could be brought in the fall. And yet it is far from certain that this spectacular process will take place.
–
Because behind the scenes is dealt what the stuff holds. The defenders of the two main accused Vincenz and his advisor, ex-Aduno boss Beat Stocker (60), are now trying to sound out the possibility of an abbreviated procedure.

Deal to avoid embarrassing questions
It is not primarily a matter of avoiding a possible prison sentence, but above all to avoid an embarrassing processas the “Sunday newspaper” writes. Then, among other things, the public prosecutor’s office initiated proceedings because of controversial expenses and payments.
–
Because if there is a proper trial, these expenses would also be made public, as they are part of the indictment. This means that the two accused Vincenz and Stocker would have to comment on this. These expenses and payments are apparently also about an apartment in the Zurich Hotel Hyatt in permanent rent and with a woman visiting. Possible questions about the ladies or business partners involved could lead to very embarrassing moments on the witness stand.
–
If a deal came about, the embarrassing questions would not be asked and everything would only be dealt with in summary form. In addition, some costs could be saved for the public sector without a lengthy process, but the public also missed slippery details. (koh)
