After going through the first four months of the pandemic with less than ten infections throughout its territory and rigorous controls that showed it as one of the most successful provinces in the fight against coronavirus, The Pampa saw all his effort collapse in just 15 days: as of today they are counted 168 positive cases (160 active), 2 severe patients in intensive care and another 3 in moderate condition.
As happened in other Modular provinces such as Jujuy, the Pampan government The sanitary status of five localities, including the capital Santa Rosa, was rolled back to Phase 1, which was partially confirmed by the DNU signed last Sunday by President Alberto Fernndez.
The areas defined with community transmission of the virus, according to the latest report of the National Ministry of Health, are Santa Rosa, Catril and Macachn, since they present as of the date 49, 69 and 10 positive cases, respectively, product of some outbreaks. They joined General Pico (19 cases) and Toay (2), in these cases arranged by the provincial Executive.
The rest of the towns have 5 positive cases in General Acha, 3 in Ambassador Martini, 1 in Villa Mirasol, 1 in Santa Isabel and 1 in Guatrach.
Until the end of July, La Pampa had Phase 5 of the mandatory quarantine thanks to the absence of positive cases of Covid-19, which allowed him to progressively enable the different economic and commercial activities, being one of the pioneers in allowing the opening of shops, hairdressers, bars, restaurants, gyms, social and family gatherings and even internal tourism.
However, the situation was totally modified with an outbreak that was registered in Catril, after the celebration of Friend’s Day. That day, outside the permitted hours, a group of people gathered for dinner; two of the participants will have brought the virus to their homes and will have spread the infection from their own relatives.
Judges Miguel Vagge (de Faltas), Pablo Balaguer (TIP) and Attorney General Guillermo Sancho participated in this clandestine meeting (all subjected to swabs that gave a negative result), in addition to an entrepreneur, among other guests, which became a real scandal when dealing with people linked to the public and judicial power.
