The Burgenland People’s Party commits the red governor after the banking scandal.
After the resignation of State Councilor Christian Illedits (SPÖ) on Saturday in the balance sheet scandal about the Mattersburger Commerzialbank, many questions remain unanswered for the Burgenland ÖVP. The governing party chairman of the People’s Party, Christian Sagartz, saw Governor Hans Peter Doskozil (SPÖ) “on duty to provide complete information” on Sunday.
The departure of Illedits is further evidence of the close relationship between the SPÖ and ex-bank boss Martin Pucher, Sagartz said in a press release. “The many victims have the right to know what happened to their money and who benefited. Christian Illedits was one of them,” Sagartz was quoted as saying.
