The trend for new coronavirus infections continues to rise in Belgium. During the period from July 6 to 12, the number of confirmed cases increased by 12% compared to the previous week, with an average of 99.7 new daily infections.
The increase is seen in most provinces, especially those with large cities. Antwerp thus counts 172 new cases, West Flanders has 107 and Brussels 100. The figures for Hainaut, Namur and East Flanders are not specified.

According to statistics, most new infections occur in the labor force, ages 20 to 59.
“To date, a total of 63,039 confirmed cases have been reported: 35,574 cases (56%) in Flanders, 19,775 (31%) cases in Wallonia and 6,629 (11%) cases in Brussels”, reports the Institute of Public Health Sciensano. “Data on place of residence were not available for 1,061 cases (2%). “
