López Serrano, son of Dámaso López Núñez, “The Licentiate”, who was right hand of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, was delivered in July 2017 to the Administration for Drug Control (DEA, for its acronym in English), because he feared being killed by the children of “El Chapo”, with whom he and his father were confronted by the command of the Sinaloa cartel.
The FGR informed that it has immediately initiated all the necessary steps to obtain the extradition to Mexico of “The Mini Lic”, who is under criminal proceedings for other crimes in U.S.
On May 15, 2017, the well-known communicator Javier Valdez Cárdenas was killed in Culiacán by multiple gunfire when he left the offices of his weekly “Río Doce”, on the occasion of his journalistic activity.
Derived from the investigations for the facts, the Attorney General’s Office managed to identify and detain Juan Francisco “P”, Heriberto “P” and Luis Idelfonso “S” for their probable responsibility as material authors of said events.
However, he said, the most important part of this investigation, which was to locate and prove intellectual authorship, had been pending.
