Cinnamon Tea: A Natural Way to Lower Blood Sugar Levels

High blood sugar damages the human body, so it is important to reduce and control it in a regular way.

Research revealed that having a hot drink after food prevents high blood sugar levels.

Type 2 diabetes may result due to insufficient production of insulin, a hormone that helps regulate blood sugar, after which blood glucose reaches dangerous levels, leading to serious complications.

But eating cinnamon contributes to lowering blood sugar, because it is packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, which helps control blood sugar levels.

Research published in the Journal of Diabetes Research also found that cinnamon tea lowers blood sugar within half an hour after eating.

In addition, postprandial blood glucose is a measure of the concentration of sugar in the bloodstream in a period of up to 4 hours after eating, and the average postprandial glucose levels is an important factor in controlling it.

So the researchers looked at 30 non-diabetic adults, ages 20 to 53, to see if cinnamon tea had an effect on diabetes.

The results revealed that cinnamon powder led to a significant decrease in blood sugar levels half an hour after eating.
