Items and special marks were found, which give reason to assume that the body found in Pernik is that of Emil Boev. This was commented by the spokesperson of the District Prosecutor’s Office in the city, Albena Stoilova.

The relatives were notified and had the opportunity to see the body and also confirmed that it was Boev. A DNA examination will also be carried out for a definite conclusion. First, NOVA reported that the man’s identity card was found in the floating body.

No traces of violence were found during the initial inspection. “An autopsy will be performed by Forensic Medicine,” added Stoilova.

Why the body was noticed only now, the police explained: “When drowning, the corpse first sinks, and after a certain period it floats up. It also depends on the weather conditions. In a period between 40 and 60 days, the body floated to the surface”, indicated Com. Jordan Nikolov.

The police specified that until now they had not checked the lake from which Boev’s body surfaced because the conditions were “very difficult for ordinary divers”. “On Tuesday, divers were supposed to arrive to check this lake as well. We made maximum efforts in the investigation”, further explained Com. Nikolov.
