Austria’s golf professionals Bernd Wiesberger and Matthias Schwab improved on round two of the European Tour tournament there in Abu Dhabi on Friday. The Burgenland Wiesberger moved up to twelfth place with another round of 69, the Styrian Schwab improved with a 66 from 97th to 24th place. Wiesberger’s deficit to leader Francesco Laporta (ITA) is four strokes.
“In golf, small things sometimes matter a lot,” said Schwab after his big jump in the results list and the clear cut. “Yesterday I didn’t play a birdie, today seven (plus a bogey, note). The difference: I played almost equally good golf on both days, but today I hit the balls a little better. I brought the balls closer to the flags and punched more putts. ”
