The Netherlands Film Festival will take place partly online in the autumn NOW

The Netherlands Film Festival (NFF), which lasts from September 25 to October 3, will take place this year “partly online and where possible on location” due to the consequences of the corona virus.

The organization says it wants to make the festival program accessible to as many film lovers and professionals as possible.

“In order to make the premieres of a number of new cinema films accessible to the widest possible audience, the NFF strives to screen premiere films simultaneously in Utrecht and throughout the country in collaboration with cinemas and film theaters,” the organization writes in a statement.

The annual Golden Calves, the most important Dutch film awards, will be presented in an adapted form. It is not yet clear what it will look like. In the previous edition, the prices went to, among others Dirty God (best film and director), Marcel Musters (best actor) and Melody Klaver (best actress).

The Netherlands Film Festival takes place for the fortieth time this year.
