Belgian speleologist rescued from the French cave after 24 hours

In the department of Herault in southern France, a Belgian speleologist was released from the cave of Olargues. The rescue operation lasted more than 24 hours. More than sixty firefighters and other specialists were deployed for the rescue.

The 47-year-old Belgian descended into the cave on Friday, along with eight others. Farther down in the cave, he fell three meters below. He broke his arm, among other things.

The emergency services kept him warm with a tent and clothes. The man was always in contact with a doctor. The man was taken to hospital in Montpellier. Nothing is known about his condition.
